Dutch Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I heard yesterday that there is a movement to reduce the size limit to 12”. Please indicate your opinion by a simple agree or disagree. I would like to know how other Ozark fishermen feel about this.
Quillback Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I'd be fine with it. Beaver went to no minimum and a 10 fish limit for spots, and as far as I can tell, it hasn't made a difference.
Ham Posted February 3 Posted February 3 12 minimum on Spots is fine with me. Bull and Norfork have it. Quillback and Champ188 2 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
grizwilson Posted February 3 Posted February 3 30 years ago Tablerock had "football Kentucky's" and lots of them 16" weigh 2-3 lbs I was opposed to lower the length. But seems they have got more like me short, but still chunky. Sounds like a good plan to me, maybe the eaters will utilize those rather than LM and SM? Lvn2Fish Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I don’t believe the lake is stunted . There is so much bait in this lake the spots are not the problem. In fact I think this lake is as healthy as I’ve seen it in the past 20 years. I know you all won’t believe me but I’ll put it out here . The last four outings have produced over 150 keepers . One day I had 20 fish over three pounds. And I bet if I totaled all the spots I have caught in that bunch only about 6 were non keepers. Big spotted bass for the four days was a 3lb 13 oz spot . I’ve had a smallmouth right at 5 lbs and a large mouth just shy of six lbs . Best five fish total for a single day was 22 1/2 lbs . I would guess the average spot is weighing about 2.5 lbs for a 15 inch fish . The fish are here, they are healthy and fat . I don’t really have a problem with the 15 inch limit , or the 12 inch limit . It won’t have in impact on it either way imo . Johnsfolly, grizwilson and Maverickpro201 3
