I'm thinking I want to set the bar high:

Take my daughter out on the lake and just introduce her to fishing

New PB Walleye 8+

Catch whites on the fly

Catch a musky in Missouri; striper in Arkansas(has to be a reasonable size fish, I'm not counting 12" fish)

Fish in Colorado with my wife on vacation

Possible brown trout in the fall

Get back in the routine prior to having my kid of hitting the fish at the right times:

Crappie/Walleye in winter/spring, whites, then gills and cats in late spring early summer, floating in summer.

Trips currently planned: Ice fishing in MN, Colorado vacation(RMNP)

I still have a few days to try a spot or two to possibly catch some fish that would be goals in 2020. So may be a week or two before I commit to 2020 goals.

I do know that panfish especially odd sunfish, e.g., fliers, banded sunfish, dollar sunfish, etc., will be on the list again. Also still want more sharks wither from a boat or beach or both.

The oldest kid and I are breaking my youngest into fly-fishing this coming year, she's already tying flys...has a beetle pattern mastered and has come up with one of her own that she calls "the electric bat".   The goal is to have her handling line well enough to join us for Bluegill in March and spring run Whites in April.  If that goes well I'll start taking her trout fishing with me.  She's getting a 5wt. rod/reel/line and waders for Christmas.

That's my only real "goal" for 2020, everything else I'll just take as it comes.

Lots of changes coming for me in 2020....Moving to St. Louis from central Iowa, finding a new home, finding a new job, selling a home, moving my daughter into an apartment, getting my son into a new college.  I KNOW I won't be fishing as much this year.  It'll all be new, so finding the right places to fish is going to be a challenge.  But I hope to add a couple new species to the lifelist/fly rod list once I get settled...Longear Sunfish and Spotted Bass shouldn't be too hard to find, I hope.

2019 was a great year in many important ways, but kinda crappy in some ways too. On the crappy side: My left knee has been steadily going downhill for a long time. It went south badly in August; don't know what happened but it just got much worse. I'm at the point where I'm not doing a dang thing. Fished a little in CO in September but it hurt. Got out in my canoe on still water with ness 2.3 in October and it just hurt and was difficult to get in and out of with mostly one leg. I haven't been bird hunting this fall, for the first time in decades. May do an easy hunt at a nearby preserve though. Heading in to see the doc again in a few weeks and going to push for getting a new knee this winter. Want to get that done and get rehabbed and up to speed before summer. So, this thread isn't about ness' tough luck, it's about 2020 fishing...

We've tentatively got a trip to Ireland coming in the summer...if all goes well. And, if that happens I'm gonna get me a gillie and fish for Irish trout or maybe even pike.

The last three years we've been up to IA to see the mother-in-law, but it's always been in March during spring break. Each time we've managed a little fishing in the Driftless Area, but I want to get up there when it's warmer and devote a few days to fishing it right. Love it up there!

It's been a few years since we did it, but @ColdWaterFshr and @Gavinand I need to get out and hit the small MO creeks for wild trout again. Those trips were a lot of fun.

Good Luck with the relocation efforts.

Longear Sunfish and Spotted Bass can be impossible to avoid.

I'm hoping for a less hectic year next year but probably just wishful thinking.

I'm going to keep a fairly easy list for this new year coming up.

Salt water fish on the fly rod

Finally catch a Brook trout

Catch trout in 2 new states

Fish crane creek

Meet some more fine folks from here to fish with

Get my oldest daughter out wade fishing more... This year was a bust with our schedules.

My goal for 2020--fish more than I did in 2019.

I've already got a few trips planned.  Northern Wisconsin/Minnesota/UP Michigan in early June.  I've got some buddies that have never been fishing up in the great white north.  We plan to pull a jet boat along with us and do some river/lake fishing. Haven't chosen a spot yet, I'm open to suggestions!  Right now I am leaning towards Vilas county in WI or the upper wisconsin and turtle flambeau flowage.  The other option I'm interested in is the Brainerd area of MN.

I'll be in Florida in February, gonna have to do some fishing while I'm there.

We'll likely vacation overseas again in the fall, and I'll make sure I take the fly rod with me.  Probably going to be catching some trout in Spain this time.

Need to do a solo overnight float at some point.  I've got a couple rivers nearby that should have great flathead cat fishing, I plan to do some smallie fishing during the day and set up for flatheads after dark while I sit by the gravel bar campfire.  I've got a certain logjam in mind.

I'll be out in Bozeman Montana for a wedding at some point, I'll definitely figure out a way to get some fishing in while there and we may stay longer to spend some time in yellowstone or the tetons.

Check out Ashland WI. Out on the big lake in Chequamegon Bay. Big water that is sheltered and relatively calm with big smallies.

My goal is to fish more in 2020 than I did this year as is with most I’d say.

I slacked this year on my Flathead fishing I wanna get back to chasing them in 2020.

Plan on fishing for more river walleye after the new year as well as crappie.

Would love to hit the big lakes more my lake fishing was pretty good this past year, want to keep expanding on that and not just the rivers that I dearly love.

Taking my son fishing more in 2020 my most important goal.

There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
