Our's is not intended to be a navigational aid. It's just a visual reminder to boaters not blow past our dock to the back of the cove or create wake to destroy our dock. Nothing more.

Navigation aid, traffic sign, speed limit sign etc. Majority of these buoys mean one thing, slow down and don’t make a wake. If you tie up to a buoy your blocking it’s view to others in essence. It would be like putting plastic trash bags over a traffic sign. If I wanted to swim, just stop the boat and jump in. You don’t need to tie to anything. Just make sure your not the only one in the boat when you do it 😂

Me too.
seems unfair to say that one boat made by Johnny is good and another is that bad. But I’ve been wrong before. There are a lot of guys so eager to cut down Johnny.

True.  My experience with the Big Cedar / TOR / Dogwood Canyon crew was nothing but good, ever.  Worked with them for over 20 years.

I will never forget the little old lady that had a house on the way into Top of the Rock.  Finally sold it to him when they agreed she could live there as long as she wanted.  He had his people check on her every day and deliver a newspaper.  Roofed the house that they knew they were going to tear down when she finally met her reward.  Who knows what else they did for her.  That said a lot to me.

The majority of the buoys on this lake are for this reason and NOT designed to moor a boat (especially a 24 footer! I guarantee that all the people that think it's okay, have never had to pay to replace one!

Are you missing a sock? 😅

On my feed, magicwormman's post did not include that photo.  So I'm guessing the internet bots have a specific wrench profile.  Need to figure out how to get on board.

At least traffic was way down on the lake yesterday, compared to Saturday. Maybe school will get the lake back to a little more normal.

My buddy and I spent all of last week down around the Shell Knob area. I fish out of a 16.5 ft deep V Lund. Boat traffic was bad but didnt run us off the lake. The wake boats will however make me brace myself or sit down and ride the waves out. My problem with them is the extremely loud music they play. And is it just me or is it an extremely easy sport? I never see anybody with their knees bent and battling to stay on like a real surf board. One dude was drinking a beer!! We could see the water turning dirty up shallow so they are definitely causing an erosion issue. I certainly understand the dock owners complaint. Somebody on here pointed out that their entertainment impairs my entertainment and i agree. I would assume they arent going anywhere $$$$$$$. Not sure what the answer is. I hate giving up fishing that lake during the summer months.
