What are your fishing goals for 2019??

It is official.  As of this weekend,  I have completed my goals for 2019.  I made it a point to fish at least once a month, yesterday I completed December's once a month fishing.  It also helped me accomplish the out of state requirement.  Funny enough, I accomplished the final requirements with Gotmuddy, the originator of the post.  

 

How has yours measured up so far?  Still a few weeks left.

Have had a great year but only fished 30-40 days for 4 hours or so. Spent 6 days duck hunting.  New challenge, but did kill some ducks and a goose.

Well I have fished several days this season but it looks like I will fall 64 fish short of my goal. Still it was a great year fishing with my wife Sandy. She landed her first lunker rainbow this season and ended the season with a total of 6 lunkers.  As soon as cold weather hits she is done.  Great job on completing your goal Daryk.

Didn’t win a winter tourney, but did place in the koney a few times. I did win CAM with over 700” of fish. No luck on getting the better half to fish a tourney. Didn’t float at all. Still not 20” brown but got to net three for others. No money fish in the fall BBB this year either.

Well, I didn't do well this year again.  I had the boat out just twice again, had the kayak out twice, but I did make it to Canada for some really good walleye and northern pike fishing.  Kids sure do make it hard to get out and fish.  I really need to get a jet boat so I can hit up the Meramec and Big since I'm so much closer than any of the decent lakes I would take my current boat to.

I had a Great Spring Trip with cajunangler. 

I had a Great trip to Langara in July. 

A fantastic trip with Johns Folly in October. 

Venice Trip didn’t pan out. I didn’t get in my float trips.

3000 fish isn’t gonna happen.; I’m still hoping for as many > 2800 as I can get. 

I will get to 1000 trout (I think).

i only fished in 5 states. 

I only got 7 lifers, but I did get to 61 species (so far). 

I fished a lot and I fished with a lot of different ppl. I wish I had fished more of course.

So for 2019

Catch 2 new darter species including a tessellated darter

Catch a Musky or Pike in PA or Maryland

Catch an American shad

Catch two new shark species plus a dogfish species

Catch two new sunfish species (hoping to catch at least one species when fishing with Ham in Oct)

Catch a new sculpin and a creek chubsucker

When in Missouri/Arkansas fish with a couple of OAF members that I have not fished with previously.

Well I caught two new darters species - brook darter and a strawberry darter. 

Missed out on tessellated darter this year. Will try again next year.

I did not yet catch a pike or musky. Didn't really get after them. Did catch a couple of proclaimed swamp muskies 😀.

I missed the american shad run. Did catch hickory shad. Also got my daughter on her first walleye while shad fishing.

No sharks this year either. Couldn't get a shark charter due to travelling for work. Did catch skates in the surf. Have to try again next year.

I tried hard for bantam and dollar sunfish in southeast MO but caught none.  Did catch my first warmouth and several red spotted sunfish down that way. Both were new species for me. Fishing the Texas bayous with @HamHe figured out where those redspotted hang out and called many of his shots on that species.

I did not catch a creek chubsucker but did see one. No new sculpin. I did catch naked gobies.

On the White in March I got to fish with @Quillback and got to net a bunch of his fish😌. Also fished with @LittleRedFisherman. Almost caught a brown trout with him and @JestersHK

Also fished with @grizwilson on a cold blustery day when the fish just didn't want to play.

I got to fish with an old friend @BilletHeadover the summer at Bennett's.

Had a great Texas trip with @Ham. We also caught a lot of fish on the White when we got back into Arkansas. Both of us just missed a slam by not landing a brown. But did meet up with @snagged in outlet 3 up by the dam on that trip. 

My daughter did not get her fishing goals this year. Not sure how much I helped him other than being a cheerleader, but was with @Ham when he caught his last two species, ozark sculpin and northern rock bass, to achieve his goal of catching 60 species in 2019.

There are still a few days left in 2019. So I won't go over the number of lifers or total species yet or the number of total fish caught this year. Those totals are currently the highest that I have ever achieved in a single year. More to come.

Funny. I fish maybe 15-20 days (the term days being used loosely like when I walk to he water and fish for an hour after the kids are in bed), and dream about fishing the other 355 days of the year and my wife complains about all of the time I spend fishing.

Man you guys have some serious sets of goals lol. I’m lucky to even find time to go fishing much less have an organized list of annual objectives. I catch a ton of big bass even though I’m only going when I can squeeze it in between work and taking care of my family. I guess my goal should be to retire so I can get some more time really.
