Does that seem like a problem? we re in the same trailer. If it was me, I probably wouldn't do it. My main fishing buddy is also off work, and I'd love to go fishing with him, but if we do it, it's gonna be in separate boats. I'm just not gonna be in confined spaces, or sitting next to someone in a bass boat for that matter, with anyone who doesn't live in my house until case counts start heading downward. jdmidwest Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 My fishing buddies live in higher risk cities, my grandkid is isolated from me and so is my daughter. I will have to fish alone or with the wifey. I feel the same way, its not about yourself. Your family, neighbors, community are who your helping. Its being socially responsible and respectful of the people on the frontlines fighting this thing. When you don't social distance your helping this virus grow. m&m, Tanderson15, mixermarkb and 1 other 4
Members Ranger Dave Posted April 5, 2020 Members Posted April 5, 2020 I guess I just have a different opinion that most of you. I think I have less a chance of contacting or spreading the virus at a boat ramp than I do at Wal-mart. One of the posters indicated it was just common sense to stay away from boat ramps because of all the people. Seriously? I guess you must be going to a different type of boat ramp than I do. Most of the ramps I go to have one or two, sometimes 3 lanes to back your boat. Each boat is more than 6 foot away from each other and the loading dock only has people on it for loading. If other people are on the dock then the authorities should enforce the law and remove them from the loading dock. I don't touch anything except my truck and my boat and I always have more than 6 foot of clearance. On the lake I have considerably more than 6 feet. Let's compare this to Wal-marts or other retail stores that are now funneling all store shoppers into one entrance so an infected person now has the capability of infecting everyone that enters the store. I went to Home Depot today. They were limiting access and keeping the customers separated by 6 feet outside the store while waiting to enter. While standing in line, I noticed an employee in the parking lot collecting carts. He pushed them all up to the main door for the entering shoppers to use. No wipe down, no disinfecting wipes. Personally I think I have a better chance of contacting the virus from holding on the cart handle after someone sneezed in their hand and held onto the cart than I do at a boat ramp. My daughter is an RN at Mercy. They have a welcoming committee meet everyone entering the hospital to check their temperature and wipe them down. Last week they sent a guy through that had a 102 degree temperature. She asked the guy if someone had checked his temperature when he entered. He said yes, that is how he knew he had a 102 degree temp. So let's check him and let him go in the hospital anyway even though he has a fever but don't let anybody use the boat ramps. As of last week, Mercy had 2 infected nurses. They didn't get sick at their jobs. Both of them traveled to St. Louis over their weekend. If we truly have a stay at home order, then why does the order suggest that you go outside and do various forms of outdoor recreation and why is the State giving free fishing permits but closing the boat ramps. Bill Babler Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Heard something last night as far as time shares, resorts, and recreational lodging to be shut down till at least April 24. Kind of confusing to understand. Most recreational lodging I know is already shut down. We are closed till at least May 1 and I am taking no guided fishing trips. On another note if you have a leather steering wheel, DO NOT WIPE IT DOWN WITH CLOROX. mixermarkb and MOstreamer 1 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
mixermarkb Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 It's regrettable but I understand why recreational lodging would be asked to close. The place I stay at on Bull Shoals was open last week, but taking precautions. They have been waiting 72 hours to clean rooms after they are rented, and doing a deep clean every time. To help them out, I emptied all our trash, and put the towels we used in a big pile so it would be easy to grab when they cleaned. I still felt safe, but there was a group of at least 10 in one of the cabins, and that kind of made me uncomfortable. I can see where it is better just to close them than to depend on each individual resort to keep reasonable social distancing standards. Kinda puts a place in an awkward spot if their clients break the law by ignoring common sense.

If anyone asks for clarification as to whether or not they can do something 99% of the time the answer is gonna be "no" and a new restriction has instantly been created. The resort we're supposed to be checking into on 1 May is closed until at least 30 April so I would imagine we're screwed. Unless we hear otherwise I guess we'll still prepare as if we're gonna go but at some point pretty soon they're gonna have to start backing off some of this stuff we're gonna become Venezuela. Nationwide poverty kills too and the long term effects will stick around far longer than this virus. This. Champ188 1
