But it never fails that no matter where you are the grass is always greener 100+ miles away.

Unless you’re retired and live on Table Rock Lake. IMHO

I have thought about this many times in my life.  And just as many times, my results have changed.  In my current state of being, I would believe traveling would be my desire.  I want to see alot, and experience alot.  I dont think ownership of much of anything would matter.  I could rent whatever I wished for anywhere, and not have to worry about who was or wasn't maintaining what I owned.   My kids would be required to maintain a balanced life, and I like to believe I would volunteer my time, often.  Not just to benefit those I volunteered for, but to have a sense of duty.   I think that is what makes humans different than most other animals.   Next year my desires will most likely be different.

Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. (me)

Screw that!    I've done it too, plenty.   But nowadays if I have to drive more than 1.5 hours..... I'm staying the night, or maybe a couple days.      It seems to be getting harder as time goes on, to find a crib that I'd like to spend a night or two at.  Everything is either booked solid, or gross.

You have a Yukon.   6’ air mattress, jar to pee in and you can go wherever you want for free.  I did it for decades.   In fact when this truck shoots craps I’ll be going back to an SUV just for that reason.

One of my best friends won the Powerball. - it was like $58 million bucks. I don’t think they had much fun after they cashed in the ticket. With all that money brought so many worries that people dreaming of that kind of money never think of. Fun is what you make of it. Money helps - too much of it, I actually believe hurts.  Off to have fun at work now.

What you said has been studied and proven to be true. Money does buy happiness, to an extent. Just enough to pay your bills, ease worry, and live comfortably. More than that and you're no better off mentally.

I’m not sure anyone on these forums can comprehend what you are asking.  Personally I have enough money to buy what I want but I don’t have unlimited wants.  I doubt any of us can imagine losing $17,000,000 this year because we won’t get a simple vaccination.

Who is losing $17 milly for the vax?

I don't equate money with happiness.  I quit my job last year to care for my wife and have not regretted it.  I do not miss the paychecks.

I'm sad for your wife's misfortune, but you've gotta tell me how that works.  Regardless of the health of me or my wife, if neither one of us was bringing in money we'd be livin' in a van down by the river.   Probably wouldn't even have a place to raise chickens at.

I don't need excess money to be happy, but I darn sure need it to be a consistent contributor on this here forum.
