BTW, if you think bass protectors are bad, visit the walleye boards where size ninjas happily rip the intestines out of those who keep sizes they feel are wrong.

thanks.  I now have coffee spewed on the keyboard!

You guys who keep and eat bass have just as much right to voice your position as I do on the other side. I see it as a plus --- and a testimony to this forum/website --- that both factions can do so in a civil manner. Steve, thanks for saying what you did about the stringer photo being in poor taste and to releasing practically all of the bass you catch; in my eyes, it speaks to your commitment as a sportsman.

I've satisfied my need to speak to this issue. It's an ongoing debate that will never be resolved because it's not a matter of law, but one of personal conviction. Certainly, no one broke the law.

Appreciate not being attacked for speaking my mind. Peace out.

Here is basically the deal. Steve is a great poster and everyone here knows he at times consumes some bass. His legal right by far.

The question here is for the most part why post pictures or tell about it here on a board that is 99.9% catch and release.

This has absolutely nothing to do with tournament fishing, nothing.

This lake however is pummeled by not only tournament fishermen but day to day pressure, with 99% of it directed to black bass.

Most importantly let me reiterate here for those that don't know or for those that have forgotten.

Table Rock lake is NOT STOCKED nor has been with black bass (One of Bo's greatest annoyances.)

Here is another point, you have a group of mature friends that appear to be able to afford a ham hock for their beans, why come to the lake and kill pre and spawning bass?  Makes zero sense. I just don't understand it.

For cripes sakes if you just have to kill something put out a couple of trotlines and harvest some catfish. Completely underutilized resource.

We love our posters here, but keep in mind you are on a board that practices catch and release on black bass.  Volumes of information is provided here, for like in kind.

If your observing the game laws it is your prerogative to do as you wish. Please don't post it here. There is no need to create controversy.

Thanks everyone and have a great season.

Well put.

This is also why I don't provide as much info as I once did. I've seen too many bass going to the cleaning table in recent years. Certainly welcome to do it, but I won't assist it.

@rps you just haven't had them cooked right 🤣!

Now,now, now. If I can't cook them to suit me or the wife, then it can't be done. At the risk of hijacking this thread, I will state that 90% or more of the people that eat fish do so either because they like the fried breading or batter or because the blackening spices render their taste buds incapable of working. How else do you explain tilapia?

Tilapia is cheap. Only explanation needed.😅

But so is dog food but that is likely better tasting than tilapia. Especially over noodles.

Yeah I learned my lesson about keeping bass and telling people about it on table rock.  Id never received so much anger over a legal limit of bass.  It is a shame that it discourages the sharing of information, but this is the internet, and folks are quick to get offended and can and will voice their opinions.  I still give away all of my information when I fish, but unless the fish are a "politically correct" species i wont post any dead ones.  Im glad you all had such a good time.
