Here's a response. Cause I know you were itching to get one. You've said your fair share of BS. Hope that eases your pain6 points -
I was taught, and I say that because this DID NOT come naturally, that we should be looking to encourage others to enjoy hunting and fishing and thereby securing it's future by being positive and supportive even when we do not necessarily consider another's accomplishments to be all that. That fellow with the small fish that he is so proud of? Look for the great things about that fish and understand how important it is to him and share his enthusiasm for his catch. The same thing goes for the guy, or gal, with the spike buck trophy, because to them it is just that. Not everyone has the same skills, opportunity, or experience and to each the experience means something different. I have found that when I am able to build somebody else's self esteem with regard to our beloved sports I sometimes come away with more than they did...and that's a winner. Those are some nice fish, I wish I could have caught them. Mike3 points

Bob is one of two guys who have helped me the most with fishing on these forums. Not just stockton but fishing in general. His reports are great. His seminar on crappie fishing at stockton was very informative. He explained what they do in detail for every season and how he targets em. Clearly he knows how to catch walleye too. Thanks for all of your fantastic contributions to this forum!2 points

There is a Huge difference between having strong opinions and being willing to defend those opinions and being a troll. I've never seen anything from Champ that I thought was being a troll.2 points

Walleye report
fishbait3 and one other reacted to Walleyedmike for a topic
Um, I don't think lmtout is a guide. He's just a dude that fished with his wife for a couple of days and tore it up. This thread was started by Bob Bennet who is a guide and backs up his reports with actual photos of fish that were caught by his clients on the day that he reported about. I've chatted with Bob at the Hartley ramp before, I have no reason to believe he is anything but a stand up guy. I don't know lmtout, but I do know lundone who saw lmtout catching many walleye. So, in my mind his report is completely credible. WM2 points -

That reason alone is why I purge my spare cranks about once a year. I am still a compulsive bait buyer though.1 point

Besides the photos being yellowed and pre-digital, the Ozark Mountain Ducks ballcap in the center picture tipped me off right away. I believe the Ducks played from 1998 through 2004, then folded when the Springfield Cardinals came to town. So unless the guy kept that hat in real good condition for 11 to 17 years, the bass he's holding comes from many generations back.1 point

Aggressor -- I second what WM says and I've fished with Bob and he knows Stockton better than most and is worth the money for anyone who wants to get some pointers on fishing that lake1 point

Walleye report
Smithvillesteve reacted to lmt out for a topic
I am definitely not a guide. And Walleyed Mike is correct I was fishing with my wife. And My sister and Brother in law were fishing next to us for the day and a half. They caught 26 walleye in the same amount of time.. I knew that I would be questioned about my truthfulness as I do not have any pics. Again I was fishing 15 TO 20 deep on bottom bouncers with spinner rigs and half a crawler.1 point -

MDC Smallmouth Regs Recommendations
Smalliebigs reacted to joeD for a topic
Catch and release smallmouth bass in streams. Period. Harms no one or no stream All these studies amount to nothing but more studies and no conclusions. 12" here, 15" there, 18" for special streams. Nonsense. Treat smallmouth bass as a sport fish that cannot be harvested. Bingo. Case closed.1 point -

I've also found that the tree's don't seem to care if its a 1 dollar bin lure or a fancy 25 dollar one.1 point -

Sept crappie and on into late fall the fish can be scattered as far as depth goes. Pole timber and piles are your best bet for catching numbers of crappie but I like to mark and fish piles best.1 point -

gotta get the #7 flickers deeper, more line out and 8lb max, we get ours down to around 20 with 300' out running at 1.7 mph. ....Its a pain in the butt but it works. . Those big motors scatter the fish, farther out the better in my opinion. Last time i talked to you when we were on Stockton our best color was Tennessee shad. They sell it at cabelas. i go by a cabelas about once evrey two weeks if you ever need some and dont want to pay shipping1 point -
