Hmm, with the number of fish that are more easily raised, survive better, have a better grith rate, and easily sold anywhere in the US, I am surprised at anyone wanting to bass for food source.  But if you can make a profit at it without causing an ecological catastrophe I am all for it.

I personally would like to to see an alternative to farm raised tilapia and catfish. I am frequently disappointed at the flavor of these species. If you are able to raise a good tasting fish and demonstrate that it could be profitable more power to you and your research. Maybe it a simple issue with water quality but it seems that the quality of the taste of the fish suffers as farms scale up their operations. To get over people's hang up with eating bass you might want to sell under a pseudonym like Kentucky kingfish☺!

Good luck, they don't grow very fast and they don't get bigger than 15" very often. You would be better off finding uses for Asian & Common carp.

You must have missed the thread where I proved beyond a shadow of doubt that roadkill gopher was head and shoulders above carp as table fare.

I'd gobble up some Kentucky Fried Fish as long as it wasn't full of maggots.  Aren't Cranes/Herons supposed to be the source of those grubs?   What does Crane taste like ?  Let's eat all of them first and get rid of the grubs, then eat the Spotted bass.

K's are alright but smallmouth chowder is better.  Why not raise SMB as a food fish?
